Realtor Digby

Now that Commercial Real Estate is going down, this bubbled up from the 1960s:

Ah, look at all the empty storefronts
Ah, look at all the empty storefronts

Realtor Digby, picks up the trash from the lot
where the parking had been
stifles a scream
Peers in a window, seeing the face that he
hides from his clients and friends
Must make amends

All the empty storefronts
Where did the tenants go?
All the empty storefronts
It's quite the heavy blow.

Broker McKenzie, writing the lines of a contract
that no one will sign
Biding his time
Look at him working, posting his signs in a
lineup that no one will see
Where will he be?

All the empty storefronts
Where did the tenants go?
All the empty storefronts
It's quite the heavy blow.

Realtor Digby died on the street and was buried
with heels over head
Business was dead.
Broker McKenzie, wiping the tears from his eyes as
he wails to the skies
No one will buy.

All the empty storefronts
Where did the tenants go?
All the empty storefronts
It's quite the heavy blow.
